Did you know that one length of anchor chain is exactly . metres? ️ This standard originated from the British Royal Navy, where chains were formerly measured in shackles. One shackle equals . metres, a practical length on board that has since become the global norm. At Wortelboer, we supply stud-link and short-link anchor chains in a wide range of sizes and finishes. All directly available from stock. — Wist je dat één lengte van een ankerketting precies , meter is? ️ Die standaard komt uit de Britse Royal Navy, waar kettingen vroeger werden gemeten in ‘shackles’. Meet Michel van Rij, our new International Technical Sales Manager! ️ With over years of experience in anchors and chain cables, he knows the maritime world inside out. From warehouse assistant to production manager, he has seen every side of the business and, along the way, discovered his passion for the commercial side: helping customers with solutions that truly work. At Wortelboer, he’s especially excited to expand his knowledge and connect with new people. And he’s already enjoying being part of the team: “Wortelboer has a fantastic team of passionate professionals with a wealth of experience. And not to forget: our own product, which allows us to maintain control over the quality of what we deliver.” Outside of work, you’ll find Michel on his motorcycle, at a concert, or making music. Welcome aboard, Michel! — Ontmoet Michel van Rij, onze nieuwe International Technical Sales Manager! ️ Met meer dan jaar ervaring in ankers en kettingen is hij helemaal thuis in de maritieme wereld. Hij heeft alle facetten doorlopen, van magazijnbediende tot productieleider, en ontdekte gaandeweg zijn passie voor het commerciële stuk: klanten helpen met oplossingen die écht werken. Bij Wortelboer kijkt hij er vooral naar uit om zijn kennis verder uit te bouwen en nieuwe mensen te ontmoeten. En dat doet hij in een team dat hem nu al goed bevalt: “Wortelboer heeft een erg fijn team met gepassioneerde mensen die allen een bak aan ervaring hebben. A successful day! — Ready for launch! ️ Michel en Lucas waren namens Wortelboer aanwezig bij de tewaterlating van de MPV Greta C bij Royal T Shipyards . Voor dit project mochten wij de POOL TW ankers en bijbehorende kettingen leveren. Mooi om te zien hoe onze producten uiteindelijk hun plek vinden op het water. Een geslaagde dag!

Did you know we have been active in the maritime industry for more than years? ️ Our story goes back to the early s, when Gerard Wortelboer started selling high-quality nuts and bolts. When Ruud Wortelboer joined the company, it grew into a true father-and-son business, and the focus shifted to anchors and chain cables. We began in Rotterdam, at the Eemhavenstraat and moved to the Quarantaineweg in the early s, where we are still based today. A yard of , m², filled with anchors, chain cables and everything that comes with it. Today, the next generation is at the helm, and we are still very much a family business. With the same down-to-earth mentality, expertise and / service. Because shipping does not stop at pm. And neither do we. — Van bouten en moeren… naar . m² vol ankers en kettingen. Wist je dat we al meer dan jaar actief zijn in de maritieme sector? ️ Onze geschiedenis gaat terug naar begin jaren ’, toen Gerard Wortelboer startte met de verkoop van kwaliteitsbouten en -moeren. Toen Ruud Wortelboer aansloot, groeide het bedrijf uit tot een echt vader-zoonbedrijf en werd de focus verlegd naar ankers en kettingen. Wat begon in Rotterdam aan de Eemhavenstraat, verhuisde begin jaren ’ naar de Quarantaineweg, waar we vandaag de dag nog steeds gevestigd zijn.
